The seemingly never-ending cycle of misery continues for Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers and Alison King) when daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) is found unconscious on the floor of their kitchen in Coronation Street next week.

The teenager is rushed into Weatherfield General, and following an MRI scan, begins to suffer a seizure. Instead of keeping vigil by her bedside, detective Lisa makes it her mission to discover who was responsible for Betsy’s sudden bout of ill health.
The finger is quickly pointed towards her boyfriend Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne), but what has he done, and what repercussions will follow?
Meanwhile, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is weighed down by the burden of her killer secret, and decides to come clean to boyfriend DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) opens up about why Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) bothers her so much, and Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) is forced to confront her demons.
Here’s everything happening in Coronation Street in week commencing 13 July.
5 Coronation Street spoilers for next week
1. Sarah Platt confesses to Theo Silverton’s murder

Kit grows increasingly suspicious after spotting Gary and Maria in the middle of a heated row, prompting him to share his concerns with Lisa. Although she’s quick to remind him he’s no longer involved in the investigation, he can’t let the matter rest.
As Maria opens up to Sarah about the cracks appearing in her marriage, Sarah admits to Gary that the burden of her secret is becoming impossible to bear. Desperate to protect them both, Gary urges her to stay silent – warning that the truth could land him behind bars.
However, later, Sarah is blindsided when she returns home to find Kit has prepared a romantic lunch before dropping to one knee with a surprise proposal. Overwhelmed by guilt, Sarah makes a life-changing confession that she was the one who killed Theo.

In the aftermath, Sarah and Kit attempt to work out where they go from here, while he quietly resumes his own investigation into Theo’s death. Frustrated by DC McLaughlin’s refusal to reveal any developments in the case, he devises a plan of his own.
Convinced the evidence on Gary’s phone could destroy Sarah’s future, Kit warns her that she must get hold of the device before the police do. But will Gary hand it over?
Kit secretly instructs the technician wiping Gary’s phone to forward any recovered information directly to his personal email address. However, events gather pace when DC McLaughlin tells Lisa that officers are finally ready to arrest Theo’s killer…
2. Cassie Plummer opens up to Steve McDonald about her troubles

Tyrone’s attempt to spend quality time with his father takes an embarrassing turn when a golfing injury leaves him nursing a painful back. Elsewhere, Bernie notices Cassie becoming visibly uncomfortable whenever Ross is around and soon learns she’s being blackmailed.
Determined not to let Ross control her, Bernie encourages Cassie to fight back.
Ross insists he genuinely wants to build a relationship with Tyrone, but family tensions continue to mount. Suspecting something is going on between Cassie and Steve, Tyrone starts asking questions – only to uncover a revelation that leaves him reeling.

Meanwhile, Cassie is horrified to discover Ross has spent the night with Tracy. Once he’s gone, she tries to warn Tracy that Ross isn’t the man he appears to be, but Tracy refuses to listen.
After later spotting Tracy and Ross kissing before watching Ross head into the Bistro carrying flowers, Cassie can’t resist stirring the pot. Tracy’s confidence quickly evaporates as doubts begin creeping in.

Warnings from both Tyrone and Hope about Tracy’s reputation fail to deter Ross, but he’s left baffled when Tracy suddenly gives him the cold shoulder. Although he clears up the misunderstanding over the flowers, Ross decides it’s best to put their romance on ice so he can focus on repairing things with Tyrone.
Later, Ross confronts Cassie and demands she stop meddling in his personal life. Having already been shown the door by Tyrone, Cassie reaches the conclusion that it’s finally time to come clean to Steve.
3. Betsy Swain has a devastating health setback

Wanting to impress Dylan, Betsy attempts to cook breakfast but the plan quickly falls apart. Instead, Dylan steps in with a cooking lesson, showing her how to make a spaghetti bolognese while reassuring her that they’ll make their long-distance relationship work when she moves to London.
But the mood is shattered when an ambulance races away from No.6 with Betsy inside. At the hospital, Ryan explains to Carla that he found Betsy unconscious on the kitchen floor, while a devastated Lisa is told doctors need to carry out an urgent MRI scan.
When Dylan arrives to visit, panic erupts after he witnesses Betsy suffering what appears to be a seizure. Lisa and Carla can only watch helplessly as medics rush to her aid.

Trying to lift Betsy’s spirits, Dylan proudly shows Lauren and Brody the gifts he’s bought for her hospital stay. However, his good intentions are short-lived when he discovers Lisa believes he’s somehow responsible for Betsy’s collapse.
Although Betsy pleads with her mum not to blame Dylan, suspicion continues to grow. Sean becomes increasingly concerned when Dylan shuts down his offer to visit Betsy together, while Lisa later publicly accuses Dylan of causing her daughter’s condition.

Taking matters into her own hands, Lisa heads to the police station to report a crime.
As Lauren tells Dylan that Betsy doesn’t want to see him, his world comes crashing down. Soon afterwards, Fiz is stunned to witness officers arresting Dylan in the precinct. Betsy is horrified to learn Lisa reported him, unaware Lauren had deliberately driven him away.
Later, Dylan makes a dramatic accusation of his own by claiming Brody was really responsible for what happened to Betsy. But how will Brody and Betsy respond as the blame game takes another explosive turn?
4. Chesney Winter-Brown considers taking out a loan to support son Joseph

Joseph hurriedly hands over his latest school report before making a swift exit, leaving Chesney and Gemma alarmed to discover he’s regularly failing to hand in homework on time.
Concerned that the chaos at home is affecting Joseph’s education, Gemma admits to Bernie that he simply can’t concentrate. Bernie suggests he use No.7 as a quiet place to study, offering the family a glimmer of hope.
That optimism is soon shattered when Chesney learns Linda’s holiday rental business has collapsed, leaving her unable to continue paying Joseph’s school fees at Oakhill.

Unwilling to see Joseph’s future suffer, Chesney considers taking out a loan to cover the costs, much to Bernie’s horror as she fears the family could end up drowning in debt.
Later, there’s some welcome news when Gemma and Chesney tell Joseph that his granny Linda has managed to find the money after all, securing his place at school.
5. Mary Taylor clashes with Christina Boyd

George and Christina return home to an unexpected scene after discovering Mary has organised a flash sale outside the house – and several of Christina’s recent purchases are among the items up for grabs.
Christina is left furious, but Mary refuses to back down, pointing out that the shopping spree was paid for using her bank card, giving her every right to sell the goods.
As Mary continues taking pointed swipes at Christina over her reckless spending, Christina checks a delivery notification on her phone. Realising another package is about to arrive, her heart sinks…
