To say the dust hasn’t settled on England’s Test series defeat to New Zealand and Ben Stokes’s retirement from international cricket would be one of the great understatements, but even so, attention already turns to the shorter formats and India.

The pair will meet eight times in July – a five-game T20 series and a three-match ODI series – in what should be a thrilling white-ball contest between two of the world’s best.

It’s a chance for Harry Brook, the leading candidate to replace Stokes as Test skipper, to show his captaincy credentials and for the hosts to deliver some much-needed positivity.

India will be seeking a response to their shock series defeat to Ireland, while 15-year-old IPL star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will look to make his mark for the tourists.

The jam-packed cricket schedule doesn’t leave much time to process everything that is going on with the Test team but eight white-ball games between two teams packed with talent should be great fun – and UK fans can tune into extensive coverage.
