It’s all happening for Raja Shivaji. After scoring a big half century in the first week when Rs. 57.70 crores came in, it fell by just around 50% as the second week saw Rs. 27 crores being accumulated at the box office. Now, the third weekend has seen decent collections as well to the tune of Rs. 8.40 crores. With Rs. 4-5 crores more expected before the close of week, it would result in Week 3 being at Rs. 12-13 crores, which means more than 40% hold again compared to the week before.

So far, the Riteish Deshmukh led multistarrer has collected Rs. 93.10 crores and that places it as the top scoring Marathi film of all times, as the long standing record of Sairat has been surpassed. There are many more records that the film will score from here and the first one is less than Rs. 10 crores away, which is that of 100 crores milestone. Just around Rs. 7 crores more need to come for that and this feat would be accomplished in the fourth weekend.
The biggest Marathi film ever to be made will now have a lifetime in the range of Rs. 105-110 crores and that has given huge impetus to the industry where usually small to mid-range films fold up in Rs. 10-20 crores range at best. Rs. 30 crores is considered as quite good and even Rs. 50 crores is a distinct rarity. In such a scenario for Raja Shivaji to go past that Rs. 100 crores mark will certainly lead to more biggies being planned in the industry.
Note: All collections as per various box office sources. Collections are a combined total of Marathi and Hindi versions
