The satirical animated series South Park is coming back soon with Season 29. Comedy Central, the American basic cable channel, has confirmed the release date.

South Park Season 29 debuts in September
Season 29 of South Park will release on Wednesday, September 16 at 10 p.m. ET, the network announced. Episodes will be available to stream the following day on Paramount+ in the United States, Canada, and Australia. After the premiere, new episodes will be released every other Wednesday. The schedule includes episodes on September 30, October 14, October 28, November 11, and November 25 (via Variety).
The series, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, has aired more than 330 episodes since its debut in 1997. It has won five Emmy Awards for outstanding animated programme and received 18 nominations. Now, the show will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027.
Before the short Season 28 run, South Park’s Season 27 turned out to be the show’s most-watched season in six years, topping cable rankings in 2025. Parker and Stone repeatedly mocked Donald Trump and his administration, weaving the White House into a recurring B-plot that ran throughout the season.
The season also cooked up an ongoing romance between Trump and Satan, plus a pint-sized JD Vance whose voice channelled Tattoo from “Fantasy Island.” It wrapped with Trump and his crew plotting to kill his antichrist offspring just in time for the holidays, a storyline that followed an earlier episode where Defence Secretary Hegseth sent troops marching into South Park. The satire landed hard, and ratings followed. Few seasons in the show’s history have generated this much noise, praise, or backlash.
Now, the new season drops during a period of corporate change for the show’s parent company. Paramount Skydance is pursuing an acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery. Parker and Stone recently signed a new five-year agreement valued at a reported $1.5 billion, securing the programme’s future well into the next decade.
