It’s a shootout for Europe when Chelsea travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland on the final day of the Premier League season.

The Blues sit eighth in the table, which would be enough for a place in next season’s Conference League, following Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat of arch rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.
Victory on Wearside would guarantee Chelsea at least a place in UEFA’s third-tier competition, although there is potential to climb to seventh and bag a Europa League spot if Brighton falter against Man Utd.
Sunderland have thrived on their long-awaited return to the Premier League and avoided relegation danger all campaign.
The Black Cats need to beat Chelsea to stand any chance of securing European football – a longshot at the start of the season – and they will also need Brentford to endure a difficult afternoon.
