These gowns were produced in limited quantities, sold only in the Balmain boutique and a handful of high-end stores, and priced at a level that made them aspirational even for their time. Today, surviving pieces are considered rare and collectible, preserved for their meticulous construction and the quiet luxury they represent from mid-century couture.

The gown chosen for Alia features a velvet corset paired with tulle and organza detailing. The softened neckline and the sculpted bodice mirror Balmain’s signature approach to framing the shoulders and waist while allowing the skirt to move with a structured finesse. The craftsmanship stands out even in modern high-resolution imagery—each fold and texture reflects the precision of techniques no longer commonly practiced.
