The Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty led Border 2 has taken a fantastic start at the box office in India. According to very early estimates, the movie is expected to collect in the range of Rs. 32 crore to 34 crores, in line with the industry’s pre-release expectations. With a positive word of mouth, the business is expected to see a big surge from Saturday to Monday owing to the Republic Day holiday period.

Border 2 is made on a budget of Rs 275 crores, including the expenditure on print and publicity. With a start in north of Rs. 30 crores, Border 2 is on track to emerge as a successful venture for the producers, though it needs to consolidate this with a strong surge over the next three days, with a strong Tuesday hold.
As expected, Border 2 has done terrific business in the mass belts with some of the single screens putting up housefull shows for the entire day, leading to strong overflows for day 2 and day 3. Border 2 has re-established Sunny Deol as one of the biggest mass stars of Indian Cinema, and also brings Varun Dhawan back in the race of delivering box office hits.
The walk-ups on the day were strong, as the advances at one point suggested a sub-30 start, but masses have come on board to support it in a big way. All eyes on the Saturday jump now!
