It’s 800 for Dhurandhar! The film has now achieved yet another feat that no Bollywood film has ever managed before, that of first opening the Rs. 700 Crore Club and now even the Rs. 800 Crore Club. Yes, there is dubbed version of Pushpa 2 in Hindi and I will come to that later, but when it comes to an out and out Bollywood film, then what Dhurandhar is doing is unequalled and unprecedented.
The accomplishment came after the Aditya Dhar film grew all over again on Tuesday and brought in Rs. 12.60 crores more. It was back to double digits after narrowly missing it out on Friday and that is just a mind boggling feat since we are talking about Week 5 here. There have been multiple films from Bollywood, Hollywood as well as south since its arrival, but it has stayed on to be the first choice amongst audiences, and that too by a distance. It’s still playing at a huge count of screens and shows and that will stay on to be the case till Border 2 arrives.
Till then, one waits to see bigger records being broken in days to come as the next stop is Rs. 850 crores milestone. The Ranveer Singh led ensemble affair is already sitting at Rs. 806.80 crores and would comfortably surpass Rs. 820 crores by tonight. Post that, the film will continue its run well into the next weekend as well, which will allow it to not just cross Rs. 850 crores milestone but also aim for much higher.
