Yet another day, yet another huge record for Dhurandhar. In the process of setting daily records, now there is yet another spectacular feat that the Aditya Dhar film has achieved, what with Week 2 being bigger than Week 1, and that too by a margin. If the first week of the film stood at Rs. 218 crores, the second week is now far bigger with Rs. 261.50 crores being collected.
This has never ever happened in the history of Bollywood that a film playing on such high collections gets even bigger in the second week but that has indeed happened here. All of that has been made possible due to unimaginable hype that the Ranveer Singh led action drama has maintained for itself right through the week. That’s evident from the fact that while Wednesday collections were Rs. 25.70 crores, Thursday practically saw no dip as the numbers stood at Rs. 25.30 crores.
Today, the newest instalment of Avatar has released and still Dhurandhar will continue to roar with collections all set to be Rs. 20 crores+. In fact, if the film managed to keep the same pace as the week gone by, then an entry into the Rs. 500 Crore Club today itself is possible since the overall collections currently stand at Rs. 479.50 crores. To reach there, Rs. 21.50 crores is required today and that could well turn out to be touch and go.
