SEVENTEEN members DK and SEUNGKWAN are set to explore a new creative chapter with the launch of their unit DxS (SEVENTEEN). The duo will make their official unit debut with their first mini album titled Serenade, scheduled for release on January 12.

The announcement was accompanied by the release of a cinematic trailer titled An Ordinary Love, unveiled through the HYBE LABELS official YouTube channel on December 17. Designed as a visual extension of the album’s emotional core, the trailer presents a narrative centred on love, distance, and quiet heartbreak, immediately drawing attention from fans worldwide.

The trailer opens with DK struggling to end an unanswered phone call, visually capturing a moment suspended between longing and hesitation. The story unfolds with scenes that place DK and his loved one in the same physical space yet emotionally distant from each other. Subtle symbolic elements, including wilted plants and dried fruit, hint at a relationship nearing its breaking point. As DK moves through a repetitive daily routine, an unexpected encounter disrupts the monotony and signals a shift in the emotional trajectory.

SEUNGKWAN appears in a parallel storyline as a clerk working at a comic book café. His character is triggered by a customer’s book, which brings back memories of a past love. A fleeting smile suggests warmth and nostalgia before the moment abruptly breaks when he drops a comic while rushing. The fallen book, titled Blue, becomes a visual cue that adds intrigue and emotional depth to the unfolding story.

The mini album Serenade, which translates to a love song sung at night, aims to capture the delicate moments between meeting and parting. Infused with a winter mood, the project focuses on ordinary yet deeply relatable experiences of love, positioning emotional storytelling at its core.

Widely recognised as SEVENTEEN’s vocal pillars, DK and SEUNGKWAN have consistently showcased their range through group releases, solo work, OSTs, and cover performances. With DxS, the duo is expected to further define their artistic identity, blending complementary vocal tones, refined technique, and expressive delivery into a cohesive musical narrative.

With Serenade, DK and SEUNGKWAN invite listeners into an intimate soundscape that highlights both their individuality and their shared musical strength.
