Amazon Prime Video has announced that its latest Hindi Original film Subedaar has emerged as the most-watched Indian Original movie on the platform during its opening weekend. The action drama premiered worldwide on March 5 and quickly gained traction with audiences, trending in the platform’s Top 10 across 31 countries.

Headlined by Anil Kapoor and Radhikka Madan, the film has drawn strong viewership in India as well. According to Prime Video, Subedaar recorded audiences across 91 percent of the country’s pin codes during its launch window, indicating wide reach across urban as well as smaller markets.
The film’s performance reflects the continued global interest in Indian stories that combine emotional narratives with large-scale action. Prime Video noted that the response to Subedaar reinforces the growing appetite for rooted Indian storytelling that resonates both domestically and internationally.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, Subedaar is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Anil Kapoor and Suresh Triveni under Opening Image Films in association with Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network. The screenplay is written by Suresh Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekar, with dialogues by Suresh Triveni, Saurabh Dwivedi and Prajwal Chandrashekar.
The film also features an ensemble cast including Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Faisal Malik and Khushboo Sundar in key roles.
Subedaar follows Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier who struggles to adjust to civilian life after years of service. As he navigates a world shaped by crime and corruption, the story also focuses on his deeply emotional relationship with his daughter, forming the emotional core of the narrative.
The film began streaming exclusively on Prime Video on March 5 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu across India and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
