On December 18, the internet was abuzz with reports that Pawan Kalyan had gifted a luxury automobile to director Sujeeth to celebrate the “massive” success of their collaborative actioner OG.

However, a source close to the development debunks the theory of unalloyed generosity. “The gift was not to celebrate the success of OG. Pawan actually wanted to compensate Sujeeth for one schedule of OG that the young director paid for out of his own pocket.”

Apparently, Sujeeth financed the Japan schedule of OG after the producer declined to approve it for budgetary reasons. “Pawan wanted to reimburse Sujeeth for the Japan schedule, but Sujeeth refused to accept the money. The car was Pawan’s way of repaying him,” says the source.

The actor and director are set to collaborate once again on the sequel to OG, which is slated to go on floors in 2026.
