Yes, Aamir Khan has become the first actor to receive the RK Laxman Award for Excellence, a special tribute to the legendary artist RK Laxman, presented by his family. The award ceremony was a grand night where music, art, and legacy came together. Aamir Khan received the honour from Boman Irani. While sharing glimpses from the grand award night, the makers wrote —

“Honoring a legend in the most unforgettable way Aamir Khan received the first R.K. Laxman Award for Excellence from Boman Irani, as thousands witnessed this special moment. A night where music, art and legacy came together.”

The award was accompanied by a live concert by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. The ceremony was held at the MCA Cricket Stadium, where music and memories came together to honour the cartoonist who created one of India’s most loved characters, The Common Man.

Over his lifetime, R.K. Laxman received several honours, including the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Mysore.
