The legendary N T Rama Rao, known to famously enact the role of Lord Shiva in several films, was to play his trademark part in Balakrishna’sAkhanda 2.

However, at the last minute the decision to use stock footage of NTR Senior was dropped. Instead television actor Tarun Khanna, who played Lord Shiva for three years on the serialShiv Shakti TapTyaagTandav,was roped in to play the God.

On some probing, it was learnt that the hurried replacement was imperative as the producers could not obtain the relevant permission to use NTR Sr’s visuals for the film.

Tarun Khanna was more than happy to step in.
