Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) has been left in tears after a horrific update from Megan Walsh’s (Beth Nixon) trial in Coronation Street.

The abuser is up in court, accused of grooming and sexually abusing her student. The storyline kicked off in November, though pre-dated the Driscolls’ arrival in Weatherfield.
After months of concealing their affair, Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) exposed the truth. Unfortunately, with Will denying everything that happened – and with zero evidence – the police were unable to pursue the case any further.
Later, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) managed to make a breakthrough with the teen, speaking with him about his own childhood abuse. Will then felt brave enough to report Megan’s behaviour.
Earlier this week, tensions were running high as Will panicked about the days ahead. He was clearly worried about saying the wrong thing, and a message delivered from Megan’s mum Janine (Melissa Jaques) was ringing through his head.

She’d told him that it was clear Megan deeply loved him, and that she’s now thrown everything away for a prison sentence.
In the courtroom, his prerecorded statement played out, and then he faced tough questioning from the barrister. Megan glanced across towards him, and feeling pressured, he said that there was no sexual relationship between him and that the whole ordeal had been fabricated.
The Driscoll clan looked mortified, and comforted the youngster when he broke down in tears, admitting that he’d messed everything up. The prosecution then explained that the judge could have decided to close down the trial.
However, in today’s episode, the trial continued with Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) taking to the stand. He began to detail the torment his son had been through, while Megan gleefully watched her solicitor Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) cross examine him.
Megan continued to paint herself as the innocent party, questioning whether Ben truly knew what Will was going through. She said that he was under immense pressure to succeed in his athletics that he’d considered taking his own life.

As a result, she’d been a pillar of support to him when Ben hadn’t.
Furious, Ben shouted out across the room and branded her a liar. He was still simmering with rage when he arrived home, telling Will how she’d tried to manipulate the jury into believing that he was suicidal.
Rushing across the road, he hammered on Tim’s front door and broke down, saying that he’d messed everything up and now feared that she was going to walk free.
Will Megan be found not guilty?
