Actor Dhanush, who is promoting his upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein, took to social media on Wednesday to share pictures from his recent visit to Varanasi. The photos showed him spending quiet moments by the Ganges, watching the sunset, and appearing deep in devotion. During the visit, he also spoke to the press about his spiritual connection with Banaras and his faith in Mahadev.

One of the photos showed Dhanush sitting by the riverbank with his eyes closed, while another captured him gazing at the sunset. He also shared a light-hearted moment with director Aanand L Rai, who was seen playfully pulling his cheeks. A separate picture featured Dhanush and his co-star Kriti Sanon posing together. Posting the images, he wrote, “BANARAS. The world is a better place when you are at his feet. Har Har Mahadev. #banaraslove @aanandlrai @kritisanon.” Another photo showed Aanand holding both Dhanush and Kriti close.

Speaking to ANI, Dhanush described Banaras as a place of personal transformation. “Varanasi was not just a city to me. It was a spiritual awakening. I connected with every street, every ghat, every temple. Because of him, there was an awakening inside me, and I surrendered myself to Mahadev,” he said, adding that he never missed a chance to revisit the city. Aanand L Rai also shared his thoughts, saying, “This city teaches you not to be afraid. Parents teach you how to live, but Banaras teaches you to stand for what is right.”

About Tere Ishk Mein

Tere Ishk Mein was announced by Aanand L Rai on the 10th anniversary of Raanjhanaa (2013), his earlier collaboration with Dhanush. The film is produced by Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the banners of Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow Productions. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 28, with music composed by A.R. Rahman.

The film features Kriti Sanon as Mukti, a young woman who falls in love with Shankar, played by Dhanush. Shankar is portrayed as intense, unpredictable, and rebellious. When circumstances separate them, Shankar struggles to cope with the heartbreak and vows to burn “entire Delhi” to ashes for his broken heart.
