For the first time in her career, Mona is stepping into a darker, more unconventional space. Speaking about the role, she admitted that playing a character with negative shades had never quite come her way before. “Zindagi me kabhi villain banne ka mauka hi nai mila,” she said, adding that it was Vir Das who saw something in her that she hadn’t explored on screen until now. She also spoke about the physical transformation involved, mentioning the extensive tattooed look designed for the character, which significantly alters her appearance.

The recently released trailer of Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos offers a glimpse into this tonal shift.
