Superstar Salman Khan has opened up about his unique approach to selecting films, revealing that despite being one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars, he has never read a script in his life. The actor shared that he prefers listening to narrations directly from writers and directors in order to better understand their creative vision.

Over the years, Salman Khan has headlined several blockbuster films that have dominated the box office and built a massive fan following across generations. While many actors are known to spend extensive time reading and analysing scripts before signing projects, Salman revealed that his process works very differently.

Speaking about how he chooses films, the actor said, “I’ve never read a script in my entire life. I’ve written them, but I’ve never read them. I listen to scripts. So, what I prefer is to hear the script from the writer or from the director, so I know what kind of film he’s making, what his vision is. Otherwise, if I read it, then it goes into how I will make the film, and my vision will be different from the director’s or the writer’s.”

The statement has sparked conversations among fans online, with many finding Salman’s filmmaking approach interesting, especially considering his long-standing career in the industry. The actor has often been closely involved in the creative aspects of his films, including story development and screenplay inputs, making his revelation about never reading scripts particularly surprising to many.

On the work front, Salman Khan is currently preparing for his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. The film is being produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films and directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The project is expected to present a story centred on bravery, sacrifice, and resilience. Actor Chitrangada Singh will also be seen playing a pivotal role in the film.

Apart from this, Salman also has an untitled project with producer Dil Raju. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film will reportedly feature Nayanthara as the female lead, marking her first on-screen pairing with Salman Khan. The film is currently slated for an Eid 2027 release.
