The World Cup 2026 quarter-finals wrap up with Argentina taking on Switzerland in Kansas City.

To say the holders have lived dangerously would be a major understatement. Lionel Scaloni’s side needed extra time to edge past Cape Verde in the round of 16 and looked dead and buried against Egypt before Lionel Messi’s heroics.
With Messi leading the line, anything is possible for Argentina and they will head into the fourth and final quarter-final as favourites to progress.

That status quo will suit Switzerland, who will relish their role as underdogs and back themselves to spoil the party in Kansas City.
So, can the Swiss spring a surprise? Or will Argentina move one step closer to another World Cup final?
Radio Times brings you our predictions for Argentina v Spain at World Cup 2026.

Argentina v Switzerland predictions
Can Argentina keep underperforming and pull the game out of the bag? Are Switzerland good enough to stop them?
Those are the big questions heading into the fourth and final quarter-final.
If the Swiss approach the game as they did against Colombia, then they’ll invite the South American side on and Messi will pick the lock. If they go after the 2022 winners, they have a real chance of knocking them out.
Unfortunately, you get the feeling they’ll take the former approach and that will make it too easy for Argentina.
Radio Times says… Argentina 2-1 Switzerland
