If you haven’t had your fill of old-timey superhero action from Spider-Noir, then you’re in luck because Batman: Caped Crusader is almost ready to carry the baton.

The series takes the familiar mythos of Gotham City’s tortured protector, but applies a 1940s-era coat of paint, which conjures some delightful twists on the classic formula.
Hamish Linklater is the formidable voice behind the cape and cowl, flanked by a number of other high-profile stars ranging from Jason Watkins’s Alfred to Minnie Driver’s Penguin and Christina Ricci’s Catwoman.
The first season earned solid reviews from critics, and there’s every hope that this second outing will reach new heights, as Prime Video seeks to cement itself as the premier destination for western animation.
At the very least, Caped Crusader season 2 should help tide over fans until Gotham City returns to cinemas, in the form of horror spin-off Clayface (in October) and The Batman: Part II (in 2027).
If you’re ready to brood again, read on for everything we know so far about Batman: Caped Crusader season 2 on Prime Video.
Batman: Caped Crusader season 2 release date

Batman: Caped Crusader season 2 will be available to stream on Prime Video from Friday 31 July 2026, ending a long wait for further episodes of the DC Comics reimagining.
The animated series was picked up by Amazon’s streaming service back in March 2023 (via THR), earning a two-season order in what appeared to be a considerable show of faith in the project.
Prime Video has, after all, carved out quite a niche for itself by offering edgy animated fare including Robert Kirkman’s brutal Invincible, D&D-inspired The Legend of Vox Machina and adult comedy Hazbin Hotel.

Despite the early renewal, it still took almost two years for more episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader to arrive on our screens, so hopefully the hero’s robust popularity is enough to draw people back.
The stylised series had started life at HBO Max, but was shopped around to other distributors after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios and reprioritised its plans.
