Spain and Austria battle it out in their round of 32 clash in Los Angeles with the former still sitting as one of the tournament favourites.

Luis de la Fuente’s side, who won Euro 2024 in their last major tournament appearance, topped Group H quite comfortably. After being held to a stunning draw against Cape Verde in their opener, they beat Saudi Arabia and Uruguay to finish on seven points.
Spain, who are among the favourites to win it all this summer alongside Argentina, France and England, now turn their attention to European rivals Austria for a spot in the last 16.
While Spain are expected to reach the quarter-finals at a bare minimum, Austria are outsiders to reach the last 16.
Austria beat Jordan in their group opener before losing against Argentina and drawing with Algeria to see Ralf Rangnick’s side finish second in Group J.
The winner on Thursday night will face either Portugal or Croatia in the last 16. If the results pan out as many expect, we could have a mouthwatering clash between Spain and France in the World Cup semi-finals.
