Get ready for another tense, thrilling trip to Belfast, as a first look has been unveiled for the upcoming fourth season of acclaimed police drama Blue Lights.

The teaser, a clip from season 4, sees Frank Blake’s Constable Shane Bradley stopping an elderly driver, David (Trevor Gill), and his passenger, Imelda (Rosamund Monteith), and asking them whether they’ve consumed any alcohol.
It has been revealed that the stop is a bid from Shane to improve Blackthorn’s crime statistics. It’s good to see Shane back at work, after he was hospitalised in season 3 after being stabbed in the leg.
You can watch the teaser right here now.

Season 4 will see the return of central cast members including Blake, Siân Brooke (Sherlock), Martin McCann (Hostage), Katherine Devlin (The Day Of The Jackal), Nathan Braniff, Joanne Crawford (Outlander: Blood of my Blood) and Andi Osho (The Sandman).
Abigail McGibbon (Ballywalter), Dearbháile McKinney, Neil Keery (How to Get to Heaven From Belfast), Andrea Irvine (Call the Midwife), Cathy Tyson (Dune: Prophecy) and Michael Smiley (Bad Sisters) are also back.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed earlier this year that Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), who played Gerry Cliff in season 1, is set to return for a flashback episode, as are Jen Robinson star Hannah McClean and Jonty star Jonathan Harden (Time). Season 4 has once again been written by co-creators Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson, who were earlier this year confirmed to be writing another show for the BBC, titled D-Notice.
The series is said to be set in the world of investigative journalism, and will take a look at the titular mechanism, the D-notice, which allows the government to advise journalists about national security.
Blue Lights season 4 will air on BBC One and iPlayer this autumn.
