Get ready to return to Hotel Transylvania next year as Sony Animation and Amazon MGM have announced a fifth film in the series, The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania, will hit theatres on October 8th, 2027.

The latest film comes after 2022’s fourth filmHotel Transylvania: Transformaniasaw Drac finally retiring and leaving the hotel’s operation to his daughter Mavis.Haunting of Hotel Transylvaniawill see the legendary castle and monster resort in unusual circumstances as it faces its very own haunting. Given the hotel’s clientele, it must be a very strange and dangerous ghost if it warrants concern from Drac, Mavis and their guests. The official synopsis reads:
Drac has happily settled into retirement while Mavis takes the reins of the legendary monsterhotel.But when a series of spooky and unexplained happenings sends chills through the resort, the Drac Pack embarks on its most spellbinding adventure yet: uncovering the mystery behind the haunting of Hotel Transylvania.
Sony and Amazon partnered onHotel Transylvania: Transformaniaduring Covid so the film could release on Prime Video rather than release in theatres. As part of that deal, Amazon MGM would co-produce any further instalments in the franchise. Sony will handle theatrical distribution in North America and some international markets while Amazon MGM will oversee the international release.

The series has featured the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Keegan-Michael Key, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Molly Shannon, Asher Blinkoff, Kathryn Hahn and Mel Brooks. Sandler was unable to voice Dracula in Transformaniadue to scheduling conflicts along with Kevin James as Frankenstein, leaving them to be replaced by Brian Hull and Brad Abrell. The voice cast forHaunting of Hotel Transylvaniahas yet to be confirmed so it is unknown if Sandler, James and any others of the original cast are returning.
