It’s a good news/bad news situation when it comes to The Batman Part II, with Matt Reeves dropping a camera test teaser that gives us a first glimpse at Robert Pattinson’s returning caped-crusader, but in the same foul swoop announces a release date delay for the eagerly anticipated sequel.

Reeves took to his social channels to break the news, which sees The Batman Part II shift from October 1, 2027 to February 18, 2028. Originally scheduled to debut in 2025, the sequel has been affected by the Hollywood strikes, production adjustments, and Reeves-imposed delays in order to polish up the script.
While little is known about the plot of The Batman Part II, the film summons Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell back to Gotham City, with new additions including Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Jayme Lawson, Charles Dance, Gil Perez-Abraham, and Sebastian Koch. Set during the Winter, the film will reportedly pick up after the events of the flooding of Gotham City seen in The Batman, while also touching on the plot threads established in the critically acclaimed HBO series The Penguin.
The Batman Part II now swoops into cinemas on February 18th, 2028.
