In her post, Janhvi wrote, “DIPU CHANDRA DAS. What is happening in Bangladesh is barbaric. It is slaughter and it is not an isolated incident. If you don’t know about his inhumane public lynching, read about it, see the videos, ask the questions. And if despite all of this you feel no rage, then it is exactly this kind of hypocrisy that will destroy us before we know it. We will continue to cry about things half way across the globe while our own brothers and sisters are burnt to death. Extremism in any and every form needs to be called out and condemned before we forget our humanity.”

Dipu Chandra Das, a 27-year-old Hindu garment worker from Bhaluka, Bangladesh, was lynched and set on fire by a mob on December 18, 2025, following unverified allegations of blasphemy. Subsequent investigations by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) confirmed that there was no evidence to support claims that he had insulted any religion.

According to reports, the incident may not have been religiously motivated but rather the result of a workplace conspiracy. Sources suggest the violence was triggered by disputes over production targets and promotions at the factory where Dipu worked. He was reportedly forced to resign by factory officials and handed over to the mob before the attack.

Dipu was the sole breadwinner for his family and is survived by his wife and young daughter. The case has sparked outrage across social media, with calls for accountability and justice growing louder.
