A popular actress has joined Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie for Season 2. Known for Only Murders in the Building, the young star will have a key role in the second season of the upcoming TV series.

Who has joined the cast of Little House on the Prairie Season 2?
Child actress Willa Dunn (Poker Face, Coup!, Inside Amy Schumer) has joined Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie for Season 2, where she will play Laura Ingalls’ formidable foe, Nellie Oleson, reports Deadline. Dunn was most recently seen in Prime Video’s The Runarounds as Brooklyn Decker’s daughter.
The upcoming show is based on Laura Ingalls Wilder‘s celebrated novels and has been described as a fresh adaptation rather than a reboot of NBC’s classic, decade-old series of the same name.
As for Dunn’s role as Oleson in Season 2, the character is a spoiled princess and a playground bully who loves to make Laura’s life miserable. Beneath the mean-girl exterior lies a tenderness and a longing for true friendship. Back in NBC’s 1974 series, Alison Arngrim played Oleson, who was introduced in Season 1 and appeared as a recurring character for the first five seasons.

While Season 1 of the 2026 Netflix series is still away from its debut, it was renewed for Season 2 more than two months ago. The series is based on the third book in Wilder’s series, where Rebecca Sonnenshine serves as the showrunner and executive producer.
The main cast includes Alice Halsey as Laura Ingalls, Skywalker Hughes as Laura’s older sister Mary, Luke Bracey as Charles Ingalls, and Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline Ingalls. Additionally, Ryan Robbins, Barrett Doss, Jocko Sims, Meegwun Fairbrother, Mary Holland, Michael Hough, Kowen Cadorath, Thosh Collins, Maclean Fish, Rebecca Amzallag, and Xander Cole will have recurring roles.
Little House on the Prairie, with its eight-episode Season 1, will release on Netflix on July 9, 2026.
