“We have to stop him!” Back to Middle Earth! 🛡️ Straight from San Diego Comic-Con, Prime Video unveiled the first look teaser for Season 3 of the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Season 2 debuted back in 2024 and wasn’t as big of a hit as the first season, losing quite a few viewers –but they’re keeping at it with this Middle Earth story and Season 3 is ready to roll. “Now is the mighty hour.” Jumping forward several years from the events of Season 2, this takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war and conquer all Middle-earth. Benjamin Walker stars as High King Gil-galad, with Owain Arthur, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman, Robert Aramayo, & Morfydd Clark, plus newcomer Jamie Campbell Bower (as Galadriel’s long-lost husband Celeborn). New additions also include Eddie Marsan as King Durin’s older brother Thrain; Andrew Richardson as Elendil’s younger son & Isildur’s brother Anarion; Adam Young as Marnûkh, a mysterious Orc who may not be what he seems. Reveals feature a first look at Gandalf with his iconic hat & staff, Vickers looking as evil as ever as Sauron, and the Nazgul + Ring Wraiths showing up. While we wait for Andy Serkis’ upcoming The Hunt for Gollum movie in 2027, keep following along Rings of Power streaming in November this fall.

In Season 3, Middle-earth is at war. 5 years have passed since the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s armies have marched across the whole of the world, conquering all in their path. A few isolated pockets stand between the Dark Lord and total victory – Khazad-dûm, where the Dwarves are now sealed deep within their mountain halls, and the elven realms of Lindon & Rivendell, which are protected by their Three Rings.
