Marshals Season 2 gets production and plot updates from Logan Marshall-Green
According to TV Insider, Logan Marshall-Green shared new production and story details about Season 2 of Marshals. Marshall-Green confirmed production begins this week and said, “we’re dogging, right out of the gate, about seven, eight pages a day.” He also revealed Season 2 “will pick up right where we left off, literally and figuratively. No rest for the wicked.”
Marshall-Green discussed Cal’s medical diagnosis before the Season 1 finale. Cal revealed he has a pancoast tumor, a rare cancer developing at the lung’s top. The actor explained, “It’s a very interesting tumor. It’s high up in his left lung, and the byproduct is not respiratory.” He added, “It’s aches and it’s muscular and it’s sinewy and goes right up the neck.”
The actor explained why Cal first revealed his diagnosis to Belle. Marshall-Green said, “the more you watch, the more you understand he’s alone, and he really doesn’t have an outlet.” He continued, “They obviously have had intimacy not just physically, but I feel like he’s allowed Belle to really help him navigate his estranged daughter, Maddy.”
Marshall-Green also addressed the storyline’s military connection. He stated pancoast tumors are “prevalent amongst soldiers” and explained showrunner Spencer Hudnut “wanted to tell” this story. Furthermore, Marshall-Green added Hudnut aimed “to really dive in as much as we can in the 42 minutes that we have of who these men and women are when they come home.”
Meanwhile, Logan Marshall-Green previewed major events in the finale and confirmed the cast previously teased a cliffhanger ending. Additionally, he revealed he did not expect the upcoming twist. Marshals airs its Season 1 finale on May 24 on CBS.
