RTake Studios has joined hands with Wunderbar Films for D55, a pan-Indian feature film headlined by Dhanush and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. The project is currently underway and is expected to release later this year.

RTake Studios and Wunderbar Films collaborate on D55 starring Dhanush

The collaboration brings together RTake Studios and Wunderbar Films for the first time. D55 is being developed as a large-scale production designed for a nationwide release, with an emphasis on story-led filmmaking rather than spectacle-driven narrative. The film aims to cater to audiences across multiple languages and regions.

RTake Studios was founded by Shraddha Agrawal, who serves as a producer on the film alongside mediapreneur Azmat Jagmag and Wunderbar Films’ Sreyas Srinivasan. Vishwanathan Ramaswamy and Sandesh Agrawal are attached as co-producers. The production team has indicated that the project is progressing according to schedule, with key technical and creative departments already in place.

Director Rajkumar Periasamy, known for his work that balances scale with character-driven storytelling, leads the creative vision of the film. Dhanush, who continues to work across diverse genres and industries, plays the lead role in D55, marking another addition to his growing slate of pan-Indian projects.

Speaking about the collaboration, producers Shraddha Agrawal and Azmat Jagmag said that D55 is a film they have been closely involved with from an early stage. They noted that partnering with Wunderbar Films and working with Dhanush and Rajkumar Periasamy provided an opportunity to support a story aligned with their approach to filmmaking. According to them, the project reflects their interest in backing content-driven films mounted on a broader canvas.

D55 marks RTake Studios’ third feature film production. The banner has several other projects at different stages of development and continues to focus on building a varied slate across genres and formats. With this collaboration, RTake Studios and Wunderbar Films add another joint venture to the list of upcoming pan-Indian releases slated for the year.
