Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai has lauded director Aditya Dhar for his work on the spy-thriller Dhurandhar, saying the film exemplifies a rare fusion of artistic craft and commercial appeal in contemporary Hindi cinema. Ghai took to social media to share his admiration after watching the film, highlighting its narrative depth and technical execution.

Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and others, was released in theatres on December 5, 2025, and has since become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. Its blend of intense action, layered characters and cinematic storytelling has kept viewers and critics engaged long after its release.

In his Instagram post, Ghai wrote, “Hi Aditya. U deserve beyond congratulations for making this artistic craft of cinema at commercial platform in HINDI INDIAN CINEMA.” He said that after watching the film, he “can’t stop praising your sense of details in story telling,” noting the film’s structure, conflicts, character portrayals, casting, costumes, cinematography and sets, as well as “believable action” and strong performances even from smaller roles.

The seasoned director added that Dhurandhar “deserves all its commercial success it got” and shared his pride in Dhar and the film’s team, sending them his blessings. “I feel proud of you and your team of Dhurandhar with all my blessings,” he wrote.

The success and acclaim of Dhurandhar have also led to preparations for its sequel, Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.
