The Boys Season 5 finale has left Gen V fans angry. Following the premiere of Episode 8 on Prime Video, many Gen V viewers have voiced disappointment over how the spin-off TV series was ultimately treated.

Little use of Gen V characters in The Boys Season 5 gets slammed by fans
In the Gen V spin-off TV show, Marie Marou was a pivotal character hyped up as someone capable of killing Homelander. However, she never actually joined the fight as Starlight mostly sidelined her to crowd control. As seen in the final episode, it was ultimately Billy Butcher who killed Homelander.
To make matters worse, The Boys finale featured only a handful of Gen V characters, leaving spin-off fans upset and questioning the show’s overall significance.
On X, one angry user conveyed that Gen V had no impact on the storyline of The Boys’ final chapter. “Gen V Was Officially Useless in the Final Season of The Boys”.
saying, “I’m glad The Boys is over. Abysmal Dogs**t” while mentioning the spin-off. They wrote, “Gen V characters wasted”. The same sentiment was echoed by another user who wrote, “It wasn’t even mid- yall just can’t cope with Gen V being a separate show from the boys, and it didn’t have all your favorite characters in it. I personally think if they weren’t meant to do much, then why build so much in Gen V?”
Another individual expressed disappointment with all those who expected Gen V characters to have a strong role in The Boys finale. Sharing their frustration, the person wrote, “I can’t believe I watched two seasons of Gen V for absolutely nothing.”
