With the Power franchise’s only current series, Book III: Raising Kanan, soon coming to an end, and future spin-offs Origins and Legacy not yet on air, the creator of the hit universe of the show’s has turned her attention to a new project – Nemesis.
The crime drama series, which comes from Courtney A Kemp and co-creator Tani Marole, has just debuted on Netflix, and stars Matthew Law as Detective Isaiah Stiles and Y’lan Noel as heist mastermind Coltrane Wilder. An ambitious new drama, Nemesis has been described as a series that “aims to subvert the heist genre at every turn”.
Kemp said of the series: “Tani and I are excited to bring a hard-hitting psychological crime drama to Netflix, specific in location but broad in universal themes of right and wrong, love and loss, and loyalty vs self-preservation.”
But as fans make their way through the first season of Nemesis, all eight episodes of which are available to stream now, what are the chances that we’ll get another batch of episodes in the future?

Will there be a second season of Nemesis?
We don’t yet know whether there will be a Nemesis season 2, as the show has yet to be either renewed or cancelled. At this point, that’s hardly surprising, as the series has only just debuted, and we will likely hear more in the coming weeks.
Whatever the case, it certainly seems as if Kemp and her team have plans for more seasons.
Speaking on an Instagram live chat, Kemp was asked about plans for season 2, to which she said: “Do I have plans for a second season of Nemesis? Yeah. We do. We are working on it. But never tell anybody what you need to get paid.”

When would a potential Nemesis season 2 be released?
It’s hard to say when a second season of Nemesis would be released, given that the show hasn’t actually been renewed yet. However, it seems likely that there could be a fairly swift turnaround.
Season 1 was first announced in March 2025, before debuting just over a year later. We would therefore expect that a season 2 could take a similar length of time to turnaround, meaning a summer 2027 release date.
Of course, this is just speculation for now, and we will make sure to update this page with any more concrete information as and when we get it.
Who would return to star in a potential Nemesis season 2?
If Nemesis were to return for a second season, then we would no doubt see the central duo of Matthew Law’s Detective Isaiah Stiles and Y’lan Noel’s Coltrane Wilder back.
We’d also likely see the rest of the central figures back, including Cleopatra Coleman’s Ebony Wilder and Tre Hale’s Stro.
