Sky Original thriller Prisoner will return for a second season, with Izuka Hoyle confirmed to reprise her role as prison transport officer Amber Todd.
The action series, created and written by Oscar and BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman, launched its first six-part run on Sky and NOW, with all episodes now available to stream.
Following what Sky describes as a successful debut and “significant early viewing” across the full season, Prisoner has now been recommissioned for another six episodes, with production due to begin later this year.
The first season followed Amber as she was tasked with escorting Tibor (played by Tahar Rahim), a trained killer and high-value inmate, to court so he could testify against his elite crime syndicate.
However, when their convoy was brutally ambushed, the pair were left handcuffed together and forced to go on the run, with Amber having to place her life in the hands of the dangerous prisoner she was supposed to be guarding.

Season 2 will see Amber (Hoyle) back in uniform, but far from back to normal, as she continues to carry the scars of the events of the first season while also struggling to keep her family together.
This time, she is tasked with escorting a polarising US academic turned notorious killer for extradition, a woman whose case has divided public opinion.
But when there is an attempted execution from within law enforcement, Amber finds herself framed for murder, forcing her to question everything she stands for.
Charman (Hostage, Bridge of Spies) will return as writer, creator and showrunner, while Sophie Petzal has also joined the writing team for season 2.
The second season will air on Sky in the UK and Ireland.
