2 Seasons of a Netflix Original To Leave & Become a Prime Video Exclusive

Both seasons of a Netflix Original sports docuseries are scheduled to leave the platform next month and become an Amazon Prime Video exclusive. The series offered a behind-the-scenes look at the racers and the competitions of one of the most intense forms of car racing.

Full Speed Season 1 and 2 are leaving Netflix for Prime Video

NASCAR: Full Speed Seasons 1 and 2 will exit Netflix on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. This decision comes as a result of NASCAR Studios changing its streaming partners to Amazon Prime Video.

The documentary started as a Netflix Original, premiering on January 30, 2024, with five episodes. The second installment, also with five episodes, arrived on the platform a year later, on May 7, 2025. However, for Season 3, NASCAR Studios not only changed its streaming partner but also the show’s format.

Instead of an episodic structure, Season 3, titled “Full Speed: The Daytona 500,” premiered on Prime Video as a feature film on March 5, 2026. It has a runtime of nearly 90 minutes. Furthermore, the first two seasons also became available to stream on Prime Video starting February, 2026.

Since Netflix still had the streaming license for Seasons 1 and 2, the documentary remained on the platform. However, that license will end next month, departing from the streamer forever. So viewers without a Prime Video membership have a limited time to stream the series on Netflix.

NASCAR Studios teamed up with Words + Pictures to produce the Netflix Original. Meanwhile, Connor Schell, Aaron Cohen, Ben Kennedy, Tim Clark, Matt Summers, Tally Hair, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. served as the show’s executive producers.

Across the two seasons, the series focused on the lives of popular racers. It centered on Ryan Blaney, William Byron, Ross Chastain, Denny Hamlin, Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, and Tyler Reddick.

Reportedly, live NASCAR coverage saw a significant increase in viewership following the documentary’s premiere on Netflix (via Sports Business Journal). “To see 88 percent of new fans watching that show, and then you roll into the season and you have some terrific racing and you have a number of winners who were actually featured on Netflix, it really matched up to what we’d hoped for,” NASCAR COO Steve O’Donnell shared.
