Focus Features has released the first trailer forThe Uprising, a historical war drama about the English Peasants Revolt in 1381 starring former Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield from director Paul Greengrass (The Lost Bus).
Garfield leads a cast that includes Jamie Bell (Rocketman), Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones), Tom Hollander (The White Lotus), Cosmo Jarvis (Shōgun), Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho), Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary), Woody Norman (The Last Voyage of the Demeter), Katherine Waterston (The Agency) and Sky Yang (Last Days). Andrew Garfield plays a farmer who becomes an unlikely leader of a ferocious rebellion against the tyranny of King Richard II –who was 14 years old at the time. As war burns across England, he forms an army of the people to face the King’s might in a fight for justice and survival.
The Uprising will be released on September 11th 2026.
