Apple TV renews Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin for Season 2
Apple TV and Gordon Ramsay are returning to the Knife Edge, Deadline reported exclusively. The streamer has renewed the BAFTA-nominated docuseries Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars for a second season. The show follows elite chefs at celebrated restaurants worldwide.
The series tracks whether top chefs will win, maintain, or lose their Michelin star. Jesse Burgess of YouTube culinary platform Topjaw hosts the docuseries. Season 1 highlighted the Nordics’ fastest-ever Michelin Star win at Aure. The first season also featured Coqodaq, a fried chicken restaurant chasing a star in New York. Additionally, it covered the Roux family dynasty’s latest star pursuit at Caractère. The show explores the high-stakes world of international fine dining.
“Now, more than ever, restaurants around the world are under enormous pressure to not just strive for perfection but to survive,” Ramsay said. “The economic tolls of an industry struggling means the stakes have never been so high. With globally evolving dining standards, Knife Edge reveals the stress, the pressure, the resilience needed to hold your nerve in the battle for greatness. It’s honestly brutal.”
Ramsay executive produces the series alongside Lisa Edwards, Lorraine Charker-Phillips, and Jill Greenwood. Studio Ramsay Global produces the show, while James Callum directs.
The docuseries earned a BAFTA TV Award nomination but lost to Channel 4’s Go Back to Where You Came From. Ramsay previously told Deadline that Knife Edge taps into the content creator landscape effectively. Studio Ramsay also recently secured its first scripted project, an adaptation of Kathleen Flinn’s The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry. The Fox Entertainment Studios project stars Rachel Bilson.
