The end is nigh for vile abuser Megan Walsh in Coronation Street, with actress Beth Nixon reportedly set to depart the ITV soap.
For months, the character groomed her student Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale), and even fell pregnant with his baby. The pair bullied Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) into staying silent, though he eventually went to the police and she was arrested.
There wasn’t enough evidence to charge her, but when Will finally decided to talk about their relationship, she was whisked off to custody.
News reached the cobbles this week that she’d been released, and in upcoming scenes, will attempt to make contact with her victim once again. But this isn’t the end of the plot line.
Series producer Kate Brooks teased earlier this month that there was still “bit of a journey to go” with the story, though confirmed that she would face justice.

“It’s about the family falling apart, but then kind of building themselves back up again as they try desperately to kind of repair the damage that Megan’s done,” Brooks revealed.
“Obviously, there are soap Gods, and as in soap God’s law, there’ll be some kind of retribution for Megan. She cannot get off of this scot-free. We will go down the proper channels.
“Whether it goes on to plan or not, I cannot say, but it goes down quite a very big path. Will will be quite badly affected by what he’s been through with Megan. It does go a bit dark as well.”
Now, The Sun are reporting that Nixon is set to film her final scenes. ITV has not yet confirmed the departure.
It comes after cast and crew were spotted filming court scenes at the old court building on Le Mans Crescent, Bolton, which doubles as Weatherfield Crown Court.
Could this be Megan’s trial?
