Max Branning (Jake Wood) just can’t help himself in EastEnders.

The Albert Square love rat has celebrated his engagement to Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) in today’s episode, while also being tempted by a fling with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy).
It all kicked off last month, when he made a foolish move to pop the question to Cindy at Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Ross Marshall’s (Alex Walkinshaw) wedding. With everyone looking down their noses on their relationship, he decided to propose and prove his commitment.
It’s safe to say that Cindy was stunned. They’d only been together for a matter of weeks, and she wasn’t ready to tie the knot.
The Walford community crowded around Max to reprimand him, and he tried to assure them that it was just a joke and he didn’t mean it. Cindy was deeply offended when she realised that the ring he’d used to propose with had been found on a table, and rushed off to rejoin the party.

At the other end of the marquee, Priya Nandra-Hart was making a desperate attempt to lure Zack Hudson (James Farrar) into bed. Desperate for someone’s attention after Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) ended things, she sat down and nursed a bottle of bubbly.
Priya then headed to the car lot to try and find Max’s secret booze stash, but the pair went over to his flat instead. She made it abundantly clear that she wanted some company for the evening, and lured him to the bedroom…
Ever since then, the pair have found it incredibly awkward at work. He insisted that it was a one off, and although she agreed, Priya has found much hilarity in teasing him about the situation.
To make matters worse, ahead of the engagement party, Cindy roped Priya into helping arrange it. She decided to pull out all the stops and dress to impress, blatantly flirting with Max in front of Cindy.
She also tried to make him jealous, by cornering Mark Fowler (Stephen Aaron-Sipple). It didn’t take long for Cindy to realise that Priya was causing trouble, and an explosive argument ensued.

Later, Priya followed Cindy to the bathroom, and apologised for her behaviour. She said she should be supporting the couple, but instead was behaving inappropriately and that it was probably because she saw too many similarities between them both.
Max watched on from the doorway nervously, knowing that the secret could blow at any moment.
However, she kept shtum. When Cindy went back to the bar, Max approached Priya and said that it was obvious she was harbouring feelings for him. She then dragged him into the cubicle, locking the door behind her.
Will Cindy find out about the affair?
