Shebz Miah has finally received his moment in the soap spotlight, as Emmerdale alter ego Kammy Hadiq’s backstory was explored.

Earlier this week, girlfriend Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) was left puzzled by his insistence that she couldn’t meet his family and celebrate Eid with them. At one point, she contemplated checking over his phone to see whether he was hiding something.
She was reminded of the horrific abuse and control that ex-husband Tom King put her through, and decided against invading Kammy’s privacy.
Little did she realise, he was actually in thousands of pounds worth of debt, and was living homeless in one of the barns at Emmerdale Farm.
With Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) searching for an arsonist who was igniting fires on the land, they became pretty sure that Kammy was the one responsible. He was spotted trying to torch his beloved car, unaware that his ulterior motive was to claim back the cash on the insurance.

Aaron informed Belle, who tore strips off him and asserted that their relationship was over.
In today’s episode, he’d spent the night on Vinny Dingle’s (Bradley Johnson) sofa, and received another frosty reception from the Dingle clan. They warned him to leave the village, as they weren’t the sort of family to let the wrongdoings go unpunished.
When another fire broke out at the farm, Aaron and Belle were positive that Kammy had sought revenge and called the police. Vinny rushed up to Wishing Well Cottage to explain that he couldn’t be the suspect, as they’d spent the whole day together.
He also explained that Kammy is homeless, and Belle looked guilt-ridden.
They rushed down to the village to stop the police, but it was too late and he was taken into custody. Fortunately, he was released, though Belle’s eyebrow was raised when she heard that this wasn’t the first time that he’d been arrested.
Back at Wishing Well, she pushed him for an explanation. Kammy tearfully recalled a tough upbringing, saying that the floor fell from beneath his feet following his father’s death when he was a teenager, and that he had began stealing cars with his sister to provide for his clan.

He wasn’t caught, but took the rap for his sister on one occasion. The court decided to be lenient when they heard about his dad.
However, it was deemed that he’d shamed his community, and was forced to leave.
Fortunately, Belle offered a solution and invited him to stay with the Dingles until he got back on his feet.
Will we meet his family one day?
