Get the Scooby Snacks ready! Netflix has revealed a first look teaser trailer for their new live-action version of Scooby-Doo, a new streaming series titled Scooby-Doo: Origins. This has already been filming down in Atlanta since April this year and won’t be ready for debut on Netflix until sometime in 2027 next year. Netflix’s official intro for it: “For more than 50 years, Scooby-Doo has been a pop-culture powerhouse. The franchise has spawned three theatrical films, more than a dozen animated series, and nearly 40 animated home entertainment movies. But Scooby-Doo: Origins marks the first time Scooby-Doo will appear as a real dog. Can we get a round of a-paws for the new pup?” This series is more of an origin story, which is why Scooby is just a puppy. At Camp Ruby-Spears, Shaggy and Daphne investigate a Great Dane puppy linked to a supernatural murder. With Velma and new arrival Fred, they face a mystery that could reveal their hidden secrets. The full cast includes Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, plus Paul Walter Hauser in a key role, and Frank Welker as the voice of Scooby-Doo – the talking Great Dane puppy. Get a look at the new pup in this teaser footage – but we’ll have to wait a while to see more actual finished footage of this later on.
Here’s the first look teaser trailer for Netflix’s series Scooby-Doo: Origins, direct from YouTube:

Scooby-Doo: Origins will follow Shaggy and his old pal Daphne Blake (Mckenna Grace) during their final summer at camp, as seen in this teaser. The teens become embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy that may have witnessed a supernatural murder. With help from the pragmatic, scientific townie Velma Dinkley (Abby Ryder Fortson) and the strange but ever-so-handsome new kid Fred Jones (Maxwell Jenkins), they set out to solve the case that’s pulling them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all their secrets. Based on all the characters from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, the beloved group of teens and their very special dog will explore the terrifying case that first brought Mystery Inc. together. Scooby-Doo: Origins is a new series created and written by Josh Appelbaum (“Zoo”, “Citadel”, Heads of State) and Scott Rosenberg (Venom, Jumanji: The Next Level). With episodes directed by Toby Haynes (“M.I.High”, “Doctor Who”, “The Musketeers”, “Utopia”, “Andor”, “Black Mirror”). Executive produced by Josh Appelbaum & Scott Rosenberg, Toby Haynes, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Adrienne Erickson (via Midnight Radio). Netflix debuts this new Scooby-Doo: Origins series streaming on Netflix globally starting sometime in 2027. Stay tuned.
