“How’d you get this job?” Greenwich Ent. has unveiled the official trailer for an indie film titled The Scout, an autobiographical account of a location scout working in NYC. Made by filmmaker Paula González-Nasser as her feature directorial debut, this premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival last year and it also played at numerous other smaller fests throughout the year. It’s now set for a limited debut in theaters starting in September and playing throughout the fall. A NYC location scout photographs the homes of strangers for a TV pilot, stepping into their private lives while trying to satisfy her erratic employers. Drawing from her own experience as a location scout, filmmaker Paula González-Nasser captures the poetry & costs of being a young creative. This celebrated directorial debut film The Scout crafts a contemplative exploration of urban disconnection, following one woman’s journey through other people’s worlds – as she struggles to find her own way. Starring Mimi Davila as the scout Sofia, Rutanya Alda, Max Rosen, Ikechukwu Ufomadu, Sarah Herrman, Alex Goldberg, Peter Mills Weiss, Jackson Devereux, and others. Worth a look.

Sofia (starring Mimi Davila) works as a location scout for a TV pilot filming in New York City. It’s her job to find the homes, and businesses, and exteriors where the show will be filmed. Driving around the city’s different neighborhoods, she enters the private spaces of strangers to photograph their cozy apartments and eclectic shops, stepping into the fabric of their lives while trying to satisfy the demands of her erratic employers. Over a day filled with these encounters, Sofia witnesses moments of curiosity, vulnerability, and quiet tension until her work takes a sudden, personal turn. The Scout is written and directed by indie filmmaker Paula González-Nasser, a film industry location scout / location manager making her feature directorial debut with this film. Produced by Ryan Martin Brown, Matthew Romanski, and Paula González-Nasser. This first premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival last year. Greenwich Entertainment debuts González-Nasser’s film The Scout in select US theaters starting first in NYC at Film Forum on September 25th, 2026 coming soon, then at DTLA’s Alamo Drafthouse on October 2nd this fall.
