It’s safe to say that since Off Campus landed on Prime Video it’s become an instant hit of a series, with fans quickly clamouring for more.

Well, after being renewed for a second season even before the release of season 1, the streamer not only preemptively predicted the show’s success but also gave fans something to get seriously excited about.
Now, it’s been confirmed just who the second season of Off Campus will be about – and it’s very exciting news indeed.
It’s now been announced that Off Campus season 2 will focus on the central romance between Hannah’s (Ella Bright) best friend Allie Hayes (Mika Abdalla) and her boyfriend Dean Di Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn).
Adopting an almost Bridgerton-like format it seems, Off Campus will be centring on different couples rather than solely being dedicated to the season 1 love story of Hannah and Garrett (Belmont Cameli).
In a statement announcing the season 2 focus, showrunner Louisa Levy said: “But if you fell in love with Hannah and Garrett, don’t worry – they will still be an integral part of our robust ensemble.”

Fans already had an idea that this would be the direction that Off Campus would go, especially seeing as Levy previously hinted as much in an interview with EW. She said: “Sometimes you fall in love with a couple and then you get their happily ever after and you’re like, ‘What are they gonna do next season? I don’t wanna break them up. But I still wanna watch them.’ And we will.
“Hannah and Garrett are still in season 2. They’re still gonna be part of it, but their love story is not the thing that’s driving the season anymore.”
While season 1’s Hannah and Garrett entered into a fake relationship and then began falling for each other, season 2 is likely to be a different kind of pacing as Allie and Dean are already together, with fans seeing it kick off in season 1 anyway.
Based on the books by Elle Kennedy, the series is switching up the book order ever so slightly as Allie and Dean’s affair is the focal point of the third novel, The Score. Book lovers will know that the second novel focuses on John Logan (Antonio Cipriano) so we may very well get some seeds planted for his own story in this upcoming second season of the show.

On the announcement of the season 2 leads, author Kennedy told Today: “You haven’t seen that much… So half the book, they are hooking up, but once their relationship kind of deepens … there are so many plot points that are happening that we have not seen.”
She went on: “There’s obviously a big spoiler of another big, massive event that happens.
“I think they’re going to see some of their favourite moments that haven’t happened yet. There’s some scenes that they’re going to be getting teary-eyed over that are from the books. There’s a lot more to come, I don’t think that the whole story was already told.”
As the author of the original books, Kennedy also revealed what she’d hope to see included as part of Allie and Dean’s story, saying: “I want to see more of both of them finding this deeper connection. Dean, especially, realising the life of Dean is not all sunshine and rainbows, and just growing as a person.”
She added: “How people deal with tragedy and changes, and family issues, and whether her dad likes you or not. Things like that, I’d like to see. I mean there’s a couple scenes I would love that would be in there – but I think they will be.”
