A UK release date has finally been unveiled for The Vampire Lestat – and it’s coming later this month.

The Interview with the Vampire sequel, which is currently airing in the US (via AMC), will be available in full on BBC iPlayer on Tuesday 28 July. The series will begin airing that night on BBC Two at 9pm.
The show is the rebranded third instalment of Interview with the Vampire and takes its name from the second book in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.
While the first and second seasons followed the story of Louis de Pointe du Lac after he was turned by Lestat de Lioncourt, The Vampire Lestat pivots its focus to Lestat’s life in 1980s France.

“In the rock and roll centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by ‘muses’ from his wild and rebellious past,” the official synopsis reads.

It continues: “As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population.”
Sam Reid stars as Lestat de Lioncourt in the show, while Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle also star.
