McFly stars Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher have reportedly quit The Voice UK as mentors, two years after they joined the talent programme on ITV.

According to reports in The Sun, Jones and Fletcher enjoyed their time on The Voice but undertaking another season “is a huge commitment”.
A source claimed: “Tom is back and forth from New York, working on taking Paddington: The Musical over there from London’s West End — and he’s also in and out of the studio writing the eighth McFly album with Danny.
“As much as they would have liked to return to The Voice, sadly it’s impossible.”
ITV declined to comment when approached by Radio Times.

The pair joined as mentors in 2024, which saw the bandmates sharing a chair and having to make a joint decision to turn for a contestant.
The duo previously spoke to Radio Times about the dynamic, as Tom joked: “It’s literally like [we’re] Batman and Robin!”
He elaborated: “We were made a very special double chair, and it is quite extreme when it turns, because [it’s] unlike a single chair [where] when you turn, you’re in the centre of the turn, whereas when we turn, we’re on the edge of the turn like a rollercoaster, almost like a Waltzer.
“So, there are two chairs and one button, and we don’t want to be too rude when the artist is singing or the contestant is singing, so we have to speak through our minds and our eyebrows and our actions whether we’re going to turn.”
It was reported earlier this year that The Voice UK could be “rested” after a delay in airing its latest season, with a tabloid source claiming that people were “openly talking” about resting the show after its upcoming 14th season.
However Radio Times understands that The Voice UK remains in the schedule for this year and that there is no truth to the claim that its future is in doubt.

It is also unclear if Emma Willis will be returning for a new season of The Voice UK, given her recent appointment as host of Strictly Come Dancing.
Willis, alongside Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe, have joined the 2026 series as a trio of hosts and will head onto the dance floor this autumn as the BBC programme makes a return.
Willis said in a statement at the time: “It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Strictly – I’ve cheered and danced along from my sofa for years – so to be stepping into the Strictly ballroom is something I can’t quite comprehend.
“It’s impossible to fill the shoes that Tess and Claudia have left behind – two wonderful, iconic women who have been the beating heart of Strictly for so long. I can only hope that we are able to help to steer the ship as beautifully as they have, into this new chapter.
“I can’t wait to spend my weekends with Josh and Jojo, the incredible dancers and the judges. Fingers crossed for a 10 from them!”

Though exact details on when The Voice will air on TV are yet to be confirmed, there is plenty to look forward when the show does return.
Last summer, it was announced that LeAnn Rimes had exited the show as coach after one season, but ITV was quick to confirm that Kelly Rowland would be joining the panel.
Speaking of her new role, Rowland said: “I am excited to join The Voice UK as a coach, and am looking forward to working with the excellent and passionate coaches the show is known for. I can’t wait to hear all the new talent and go to battle for my team. Let’s go!”
Her fellow coaches praised Rowland’s inclusion in the coach’s chair, with Sir Tom Jones describing Rowland as “an amazing artist with a huge amount of experience to share”, while will.i.am said she will “take this season to the dopest level possible”.
