One of Warner Bros.’ underrated romantic crime drama films from writer Quentin Tarantino has finally found a new streaming home. Beginning today, the 1993 movie True Romance starring Christian Slater and Brad Pitt is now available to stream on Netflix.

What do we know about Quentin Tarantino’s Brad Pitt movie?
True Romance was directed by Tony Scott, with Tarantino writing the screenplay. During its theatrical run, the film had a poor box office performance. Despite this, it was still an instant hit among critics, receiving a 93% approval rating and 93% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the film, Pitt played the supporting role of Floyd, who’s described as a laid-back stoner. This marks the first collaboration between Tarantino and Pitt, before working together in 2009’s Inglourious Basterds and 2019’s Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. The ensemble cast also included Slater as Clarence, Patricia Arquette as Alabama, Val Kilmer as Elvis, Dennis Hopper as Clifford, Gary Oldman as Drexl, Christopher Walken as Vincenzo, Samuel L. Jackson as Big Don, James Gandolfini as Virgil, and more.
“A comic-book nerd and Elvis fanatic, Clarence, and a prostitute named Alabama fall in love. Clarence breaks the news to her pimp and ends up killing him. He grabs a suitcase of cocaine on his way out, thinking it is Alabama’s clothing. The two hit the road for California, hoping to sell the cocaine, but the mob is soon after them,” reads the official synopsis.
The movie was executive-produced by James G. Robinson, Bob Weinstein, and Harvey Weinstein, with Gary Barber, Samuel Hadida, Steve Perry, and Bill Unger serving as producers. The creative team included director of photography Jeffrey L. Kimball, composer Hans Zimmer, editor Michael Tronick, and editor Christian Wagner.
