Portugal and Croatia battle it out in Toronto in the early hours of Friday morning with both sides eyeing a spot in the World Cup last 16.
Cristiano Ronaldo and co went unbeaten in the group stages (won one, drawn two) but Roberto Martinez’s side had to settle for second place behind Colombia in Group K.
Portugal reached the quarter-finals in Qatar in 2022 but they’d failed to make it past the round of 16 in their previous three World Cup appearances.
Martinez will be desperate to improve on that run as Portugal look to better their best-ever finish of reaching the semi-finals. However, it’s worth nothing that the winner will likely face one of the tournament favourites Spain in the last 16.
Croatia, meanwhile, won two of their three group games to finish second in Group L behind England.
Croatia have been brilliant at the last two tournaments as they finished runners-up in 2018 before reaching the semi-finals – and then winning the third-place game – in 2022.
