Arsenal are bidding to win their first European title and complete a famous double when they meet PSG in the Champions League final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Saturday evening.
The Gunners head into the European showpiece on a high after lifting the Premier League trophy for the first time in 22 years following Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace.
Mikel Arteta rested a number of big guns on the final day of the Premier League campaign to keep them fresh for the PSG challenge and the major dilemma facing the Arsenal boss is whether to play Kai Havertz, who scored Chelsea’s Champions League-winning goal in 2021, or Viktor Gyökeres in attack.
Arsenal have problems at right-back, however, as Ben White is ruled out through injury and Jurriën Timber faces a race against time to prove his fitness after a couple of months on the sidelines.
PSG, who knocked the Gunners out of last season’s Champions League at the semi-final stage, are bidding to become the first club since Real Madrid in 2017 to successfully defend the title.
Luis Enrique’s stylish team are also looking to complete the domestic league and European double after another dominant year in France’s Ligue 1.
