Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) hits rock bottom in Emmerdale next week, when she learns that the CPS won’t be pursuing her blackmailer and abuser Dr Todd (Caroline Harker).

Despite her betrayal of husband Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb), he continues to fight in her corner and plots with Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) to uncover a series of buried complaints made against Todd at Hotten General.
Later, Charity meets with another of Todd’s victims.
There’s further questioning about Serena Sugden’s (Casey Al-Shaqsy) motives, plus Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) suffers a nasty fall while on a camping trip.
Plus, former Waterloo Road star Jason Done joins the cast as newcomer Steve – an old friend of Kev Barton (Chris Coghill). But what does he want?
Here’s everything happening in Emmerdale in week commencing Monday 20 July.
5 Emmerdale spoilers for next week
1. Charity Dingle meets another of Dr Caitlin Todd’s victims

Charity is devastated when the CPS decides not to pursue Todd’s case, citing insufficient evidence. Determined not to let him escape justice, Mack and Vanessa devise a plan to uncover any historic complaints that may have been made against him at the hospital.
Vanessa soon puts the wheels in motion, arranging a discreet meeting with HR representative Carol alongside Jacob.
When Charity learns what they are doing, she heads off to confront Vanessa, only to come face to face with Helen (Nicole Evans), another of Todd’s alleged victims.
Initially reluctant to speak, Helen is visibly affected when Charity quietly shares her own experience.

Could this emotional encounter finally provide the breakthrough Charity so desperately needs?
2. Serena Sugden’s motives come into question

An alarming security breach at Home Farm prompts Kim Tate (Claire King) to order Ross Barton (Michael Parr) to investigate after an armed intruder is reported on the estate. Armed with a list of suspects, he throws himself into the case, but his inquiries quickly cause friction.
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) dismisses his accusations outright, while a confrontation with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) ends in a scuffle after partner Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) leaps to his defence.
Stepping in to smooth things over, Serena explains the situation surrounding murderous John to Robert, eventually persuading him to let her remain despite Aaron’s reservations. Back at Home Farm, Kim discovers that the thief’s true target was a USB stick.

With Robert still recovering, Aaron offers Serena work on Emmerdale Farm, and before long, she engineers a situation that draws Ross back into her orbit.
He is convinced she is interested in him, but Serena may have an entirely different agenda. Is she the one who is illegally entering Home Farm?
3. Kev Barton’s fresh start faces an unsettling setback

Encouraged by Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson), Kev decides to keep hold of his café job, much to the surprise of those who had assumed he had quit for good.
Eager to make up for lost time with son Lewis (Bradley Riches) ahead of his birthday, he showers him with gifts, but his enthusiasm proves overwhelming and leaves his son feeling uneasy.
Matters become even more complicated when Steve, an old friend from Kev’s past, arrives unexpectedly. Keen to protect the new life he has built, he makes it clear that he will not allow old mistakes to resurface.
But what does Kev want?
4. Cain Dingle suffers a nasty accident on a camping trip

Refusing to lose hope for beloved dog Monty, Cain seeks a second veterinary opinion, convinced that another treatment could save him. His determination, however, leaves him emotionally withdrawn from both Moira and son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn).
As Kyle battles problems of his own at cadets, Cain remains too consumed by Monty’s condition to notice. The devastating news that Monty’s tumours cannot be treated hits Cain hard, and he impulsively takes his son on a camping trip.

When Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) joins them, tensions soon boil over, culminating in a furious row that sends Cain storming off alone.
As night falls, disaster strikes when he slips down a hillside and becomes trapped under a tree.
Will Cain be OK?
5. Dawn Fletcher’s jealous surrounding husband Billy and Gabby Thomas grows

Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Fletcher) is overjoyed to receive her wedding dress, but her happiness is tempered by her discomfort over ex-husband Billy’s (Jay Kontzle) growing closeness to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).
Later, Gabby keeps Billy distracted to avoid sharing the meal he has lovingly prepared, adding another layer of awkwardness to an already complicated situation.
