As fans wait for news on a potential third season of the Bergerac reboot starring Damien Molony, the first run of the show is now arriving on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

The series, which originally aired on U&Drama, is just the latest in a line of UKTV shows to have made the move across to the BBC for repeats, offering more viewers a chance to watch the new take on the 1980s cop series.
In the show’s first season, Jim Bergerac is seen grappling with the untimely death of his wife, while trying to raise his teenage daughter Kim and solve crime on the Channel Island of Jersey.
Other stars playing key characters in the reboot include Zoë Wanamaker as Jim’s former mother-in-law, Charlie Hungerford, Chloé Sweetlove as his daughter Kim, and Robert Gilbert as his detective partner, Barney Crozier.

Damien Molony plays Jim Bergerac

Who is Jim Bergerac? A detective who’s still coping with the grief from the sudden death of his wife 18 months ago. He is raising his daughter Kim, who in season 2 is seen encouraging Jim to start dating again.
What else has Damien Molony been in? He’s known for Brassic, The Split, Suspects and Being Human.
Zoë Wanamaker plays Charlie Hungerford

Who is Charlie Hungerford? Bergerac’s mother-in-law. Their relationship is less strained than it has been by season 2, when Charlie is seen dating restauranteur Nigel. The original Charlie Hungerford was a man.
What else has Zoë Wanamaker been in? She’s best known for My Family, Love Hurts and Harry Potter. Wanamaker has also appeared in Shadow and Bone, Brittania, Mr Selfridge and Criminal Record, to name just a few.
Chloé Sweetlove plays Kim Bergerac

Who is Kim? Bergerac’s daughter. In season 2, she’s about to head off to college.
What else has Chloé Sweetlove been in? You might recognise her from The Crow Girl.
Robert Gilbert plays Barney Crozier

Who is Barney Crozier? A detective who was standing in for Bergerac when he took a break from policing. They don’t like one another.
What else has Robert Gilbert been in? You might know him from Big Boys, Red Eye, Big Mood and Killing Eve.
Adrian Edmondson plays Nigel Morton

Who is Nigel Morton? A chef wanting to open a restaurant in Jersey, he is also Charlie’s boyfriend in season 2, although she is keeping him a secret from her friends.
What else has Adrian Edmondson been in? He’s best known as a comic actor in classic series The Young Ones, Bottom and Blackadder. He’s also appeared in Jonathan Creek and Holby City and has won the celebrity versions of The Great British Bake Off (for Sport Relief) and MasterChef.
Lesley Sharp plays Monica

Who is Monica? The new wife of murder victim Tony in season 2. She is also the mother of Nicola and Michael.
What else has Lesley Sharp been in? She recently appeared in the award-winning movie Pillion, and is best known for her roles in TV thriller Red Eye, Afterlife, Bob & Rose, as well as Doctor Who, where she played the initial villain in the beloved episode ‘Midnight’.
Camilla Beeput plays Nicola
Who is Nicola? Monica’s adopted daughter, and a potential love interest for Jim in season 2.
What else has Camilla Beeput been in? She starred as Zeta in Save Me, and has also appeared in Grantchester, Midsomer Murders and Dune: Prophecy.
Turlough Convery plays Michael
Who is Michael? Monica’s biological son, who doesn’t get on with older sister Nicola.
What else has Turlough Convery been in? He’s best known as Bear in Killing Eve and Arthur in Sanditon.
Celine Arden plays Kara Molloy

Who is Kara? One of the detectives on Jim’s team.
What else has Celine Arden been in? She’s appeared in episodes of Bridgerton, Father Brown and Bloods.
Sasha Behar plays Uma Dalal

Who is Uma Dalal? Bergerac’s former boss. While she’s pleased to have him back on the force, she is always concerned about his mental state.
What else has Sasha Behar been in? She’s best known for Coronation Street. Behar has also appeared in Foundation and Unforgotten.
Luke Nunn plays Simon Calvert

Who is Simon Calvert? A younger member of Bergerac’s team. He can be very naive.
What else has Luke Nunn been in? He’s appeared in episodes of Grantchester, The Last Kingdom and Father Brown.
