Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi has been enjoying a fresh wave of appreciation following the success of the Dhurandhar duology. While audiences praised his performance as Jameel Jamali, an Indian agent who infiltrates Pakistan’s political system and rises to become a politician, his co-star Chunky Panday has now revealed that Bedi was confident about the film long before its release.

Speaking to ETimes, Chunky Panday recalled working alongside Rakesh Bedi on Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and shared memories from their shooting schedule in Scotland. According to Chunky, Bedi could barely hide his excitement whenever the conversation turned to Dhurandhar.

“He was so excited about it. I’m so happy for him today. While we were shooting in Scotland, he kept telling me how special the film was. He didn’t reveal the story, but he kept saying that the director had created a beautiful world. You could see the excitement in his eyes,” Chunky said.

The actor added that the two spent a considerable amount of time together during the shoot, often visiting pubs and engaging in long conversations. It was during those interactions that Bedi repeatedly spoke about the upcoming project and his belief in what the team had created.

Following the release of Dhurandhar, Chunky said he wasted no time in reaching out to congratulate his colleague. Praising Bedi’s work in the film, he said, “I’ve always had a great rapport with him. He’s one of the most lovable souls in the industry. I called him immediately after watching it. One and two, both! I was so excited for him because he was fantastic in it.”

Rakesh Bedi’s portrayal of Jameel Jamali emerged as one of the most talked-about aspects of Dhurandhar. Several of his dialogues struck a chord with audiences, with the line “Baccha hai tu mera” becoming particularly popular on social media. Now seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Bedi continues to enjoy the momentum generated by Dhurandhar.
